Meet Craig McCoy
Broker Associate · REALTOR® · Preferred Shore Real Estate Group

Four Decades of Business Experience. A Lifetime of Building Value.
Craig McCoy has more than 40 years of experience in business and property, and now he brings it to Florida real estate. He and his family have owned, grown, and sold many businesses. Along the way, he ran several at the same time, bought and sold goods around the world, designed and made products, built and fixed up homes, and worked on big deals with business leaders and the government. That taught him to look at every opportunity in a practical way, watch for risk, and build lasting value.
Craig is a Broker Associate and REALTOR® with Preferred Shore Real Estate Group. He helps people buy, sell, and invest in homes across Sarasota, Manatee, and Charlotte counties and along Florida’s Gulf Coast. He does more than match buyers with houses or list a home. He makes sure you understand the real numbers, studies what similar homes have sold for, builds a smart plan to price and market your home, works to get you good terms, and walks you through the paperwork and the money, step by step.
Craig has built and fixed up homes with his own hands. So he can look at a house and see its condition, what it could become, and whether the price makes sense. Because he has also owned businesses for decades, he looks at a home the way a builder does and the way a business owner does.
His experience goes well beyond homes, and he earned it as an owner. Through the family businesses Craig helped build, grow, and sell, he has worked in retail, large-scale farming, services, warehouses, manufacturing, and getting products to customers. That work included projects for Nike, the White House, West Point, and well-known public figures. If you own a business, invest, or have a large or unusual property to sell, Craig can answer questions most agents have never faced: how an operation really runs, what a growing business needs from a property, and how to judge a big deal.
Craig’s roots are in New York’s Hudson Valley. He is a seventh-generation New Yorker, a 12th-generation descendant of Pilgrims, and a descendant of Revolutionary War patriots. He knows what legacy means: building something that lasts and passing it on. He also understands how big a move to Florida can feel, whether you are relocating, investing, or starting a new chapter. A home can be more than an address. It can be a major money decision, a business move, or a big change for a whole family.
Beyond business, Craig has given years to his community. He served as president of Big Brothers Big Sisters and spent ten years as a Big Brother. That shows how much he cares about responsibility, guidance, and helping others build a better future.
Craig lets results speak for themselves. He has binders full of awards and accolades, and he leaves them off this page. He is past that, and he is here to help clients succeed.
“Money does not buy class. Respect is earned, not given. I do not overstate what I do. When I do not have an answer, I find one, and when a problem is unusual, I build a solution that fits it. I am here to make things happen for you.”Craig McCoy
Loyalty comes first for Craig. His word is his bond, and his handshake means the same. He keeps his circle small on purpose, so every client gets his full attention, and he stays in your corner after closing day.
Craig believes good real estate help starts with knowing the facts, using sound judgment, and being honest. He listens first, so he understands what you want. From pricing and marketing to contracts, inspections, and closing, he helps you make smart choices, protect your interests, avoid needless risk, and get the best result that is realistic for you.
The REAL McCoy. Four decades of business experience, a hands-on understanding of property, and a commitment to putting knowledge and strategy to work for every client.
Built from the ground up.
Craig and his family have owned, grown, and sold businesses in many industries. He now uses that know-how to help people who are building a business find the right property.
Craig has worked in retail and knows what makes a storefront work: the road, the sign, the parking, and who walks by. If you are buying a shop or a center, he checks what your customers will see before you decide. If you are selling one, he knows what the next buyer will look for.
Craig has worked in industrial agriculture. He knows a working property needs water, truck access, good ground, and room to grow. He helps you ask the right questions about wells, drainage, flood zones, and how the land can be used, so you know what you are buying.
Service businesses run on location and layout. Craig has been part of service companies and knows what they need: parking, easy customer access, the right mix of office and shop space, and room to grow. He helps you find a place that fits how you work today.
Craig has worked in warehousing and commercial space. He checks what matters: truck access, loading doors, ceiling height, power, floor strength, and flood zone for stored goods. You get a straight read on whether a building can do the job.
Craig has designed and made products, so he knows what a shop floor needs. Power, ceiling height, air flow, floors, and room for trucks all count. He helps you see if a building fits your equipment and your workflow before you buy.
Moving goods fast is part of Craig’s background. He has helped build distribution for consumer and commercial products. He looks at roads, ports, airports, and how close you are to your customers. The right site saves time on every shipment.
Craig has worked in building and construction, and he has built businesses from the ground up. He reads a lot or a building the way a builder does: setbacks, utilities, flood and elevation, permits, and what a site can become. That helps you avoid costly surprises.
Craig has worked in international trade, sourcing, and shipping, so he knows the paperwork and the pace, plus trade show networking. He is at ease with buyers and sellers from other countries. He works with your lender, attorney, and tax professional on rules like FIRPTA.
Tap a box to see how that background helps you. Craig works with your attorney, lender, and tax advisor on legal, tax, and zoning questions.
Craig has done work for state and government offices, the military including West Point, historic sites, presidents and the White House, Nike, rock legends, and public figures you would recognize.
These names show Craig’s work history. They do not mean these groups endorse Craig or Preferred Shore Real Estate Group.
